Operator Environment

The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator a safe and efficient place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major analysis of operators' working conditions. The main objective is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is really comfortable and gently rounded. This specific area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important info, so as to keep the operator functioning as efficiently as he or she could.



Vibration levels and noise levels are kept low thanks to the insulated mounting on the chassis. To be able to maintain an optimal working position, the hydraulic controls and operator seat are all independently adjustable. Furthermore, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers that are provided for gear changing, windscreen wipers, the horn and window washers.



A ventilation/heating unit guarantees a comfortable cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, recirculation and defrosting. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.



Instrumentation

The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The standard instruments that comprise: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Additionally, gauges display values for engine coolant, gearbox oil pressure, operating time and fuel quantity.



One of the key options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be equipped with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the unit. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any faults that happen and their current values.
