Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts San Antonio

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts San Antonio

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift

Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also referred to as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport materials and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

To be able to avoid loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Equipment should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make sure that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be carefully stacked in order to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop in order to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks must be in the middle to guarantee equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is not safe to push the pallet ahead of you since the thrust can cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Gradually stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
