Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also called a counterbalance, lifts loads as heavy as 30,000 pounds. Despite being big and sturdy, these industrial equipment still bear the potential risk of crash or accident. To be able to be safe, be sure to have operators wear the correct seat belt inside the forklift and make certain that up to standard safety features are on board. We all know that seat belts could save lives in the event of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The types of seat belts that can extend both over the lap and across the upper body are the three-point seat belts. These types of belts offer an added safety degree by protecting your body. They are available in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either non-retractable or retractable styles.
Retractable seat belts are commonly utilized in most modern motor vehicles available. Although non-retractable kinds increase safety, retractable types provide more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are ones which extend over the lower part of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the kind which force forklift operators to put on a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached that sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band styles.
