Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed a lot of customers and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into making man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers stick booms and telehandlers.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values because of the economic recession during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers all around the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the early years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machinery.
The DC and Bi-Energy machinery offered by Genie offers emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, like for instance within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machine along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the various aerial platforms. These machines are great for limited access areas or small areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
